Five-member constitutional bench would be headed by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan

ISLAMABAD: The three-member committee authorised to form constitutional benches has included Justice Aamir Farooq in the Constitutional Bench.

Justice Aamir Farooq, former chief justice of the Islamabad High Court, was recently elevated to the Supreme Court along with other judges and chief justices of Sindh, Balochistan and Peshawar high courts.

According to the Cause List issued on Tuesday with the signature of Registrar Muhammad Salim Khan, the three-member committee formed under Section 191 A(4) of the 26th Constitutional Amendment authorised to form constitutional benches has included Justice Aamir Farooq in the five-member Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court, which would resume hearing in cases from March 10 to March 14, 2025.

The five-member constitutional bench would be headed by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan and comprises Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Aamir Farooq.

It is pertinent to mention here that a three-member committee comprising Justice Amin-ud-Din, Justice Mandokhail and Justice Mazhar had been constituted under the 26th Amendment to form constitutional benches and schedule hearings for constitutional cases under Article 191A(4) of the Constitution.
