Rawalpindi:The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has claimed that the recent rainfall of over 40 mm in Rawalpindi and Islamabad has contributed to a rise in water levels at Rawal Dam and Khanpur Dam.
Wasa spokesperson, Omar Farooq, stated, “This marks the first rainfall in the twin cities in the past five months, providing much-needed relief from the ongoing dry spell.”
“The increase in water storage will help meet the drinking water needs of residents," the WASA spokesperson added. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the rain will continue. Meanwhile, WASA Rawalpindi remains on high alert, with staff and heavy machinery deployed across the city.
