Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Monem Zafar has said the killing spree by dumpers, trailers and other heavy traffic vehicles is not just an administrative issue as it is a direct result of corruption and mismanagement by the government.
Addressing a press conference at the JI headquarters Idara Noor-e-Haq on Thursday, he rejected Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s take on the issue who had dubbed the killings an administrative matter and stated that politics should not be done on it.
Zafar said the JI would hold demonstrations at 15 spots in the city today against the killings by heavy traffic. He said 110 residents of Karachi were killed and 1,500 others injured in traffic accidents during the first 50 days of the calendar year 2025.
