AIOU completes 90 percent work of mailing books

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has completed so far 90% work of ‘sending books’ to 700,000 students enrolled in Semester Spring, 2016, says a press release.

Timely mailing of course books to students was a big challenge especially with the increasing enrolment this year, however it was undertaken in collaboration with Pakistan Post and the process was started on fast-track basis so as to complete it by the end of this month (June).

To expedite the process, the Mailing Department was actively engaged, working day and night in two shifts to meet the target of timeline of book’s mailing on the directives of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui who attaches high importance to provide best possible services to the students in term of admissions and timely mailing of text-books.

Mailing of books to students of matriculation, BA, PTC, CT and B.Ed programs have been completed by 100% while mailing of Post-graduate programs is in process and it will be completed soon.

A new computerized tracking system has been introduced, facilitating its thousands of students to check books’ mailing status.

The new computerized tracking system has recently been developed through which the student using website can simply enter his/her roll number and registration number to track the mailing package.

The students have been advised to contact their relevant post offices in case of delay in the books’ delivery.

The relevant staff has also been advised to ensure accuracy in the mailing system to avoid any inconvenience at the students’ level.
