ISLAMABAD: The interim bail of Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, was extended on Monday in a case related to the November 26 protest in Islamabad.

Due to the unavailability of Additional Sessions Judge Amir Zia, duty judge Afzal Majuka heard Bushra Bibi’s pre-arrest bail application. Shamsa Kayani appeared on behalf of Bushra Bibi’s advocate in the case registered at Ramna police station. The court after extending bail adjourned the hearing till February 25.

Meanwhile, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra extended the physical remand of PTI MPA Ali Shah in Secretariat Police Station case for one more day. After the two-day physical remand, Ali Shah was produced in the court. The prosecutor, seeking further remand, told the court that a pistol and magazine had been recovered and bullet had to be recovered. The MPA’s lawyer, Sardar Shubhishek Khan, opposing the physical remand, said there was no progress on the part of the prosecution, and therefore, physical remand should not be extended. The accused is a senior lawyer and has been associated with the legal profession for 40 years.

During the hearing, Ali Shah said he has never fired a shot in his life. If he had been told about something else, he would have accepted it. After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court approved Ali Shah’s further remand. The accused was taken to the Secretariat Police Station.
