LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar made a surprise visit to Bahawalpur to inspect multiple sports facilities and denounced the officials concerned for slow pace of work on development sports projects.
The minister was accompanied by Divisional Sports Officer Bahawalpur division Amir Hameed and other officials during inspection visit. The officers concerned briefed him about different sports facilities including cricket stadium, football ground, hockey ground, e-library and other facilities.
Faisal Khokhar reviewed development work at the historic Dring Stadium. “After the completion of development projects, the players will get world class sports facilities at the Dring Stadium”. He said that he is inspecting the sports facilities across the province under a mission of promoting sports culture among the younger generation of the province. Faisal Khokhar directed the relevant officers to upgrade the Bahawalpur E-library as per modern requirements. “Other grounds and sports facilities of Bahawalpur division should also be restored and upgraded without wasting further time”. He said there should be maximum sports activities in the playfields and other sports venues. “Punjab CM issued instructions to restore the deserted look sports complexes of Punjab on an emergency basis”.
