Yusuf Raza Gilani’s sons face arrest for skipping court

Gilani’s sons are accused of interfering in government functions by breaching COVID-19 ordinance during pandemic

MULTAN: Judicial Magistrate Multan, Shahid Hassan Mughal, issued arrest warrants for four MNA brothers—Abdul Qadir Gilani, Ali Musa Gilani, Ali Qasim Gilani, and Provincial Assembly member Ali Haider Gilani, son of Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, for repeatedly failing to appear in court despite summons and violating court orders. They are accused of interfering in government functions by breaching the Covid-19 ordinance during the pandemic lockdown.

In addition to the Gilani brothers, arrest warrants have been issued for former MPA Usman Bhatti, Babunfis Ahmed Ansari, Khalid Hanif Lodhi, Manzoor Qadir, Asif Rasool Awan, former District Bar General Secretary Arif Hassan Shah, Rizwan Hans, Shahid Raza Siddiqui, Rana Sajjad Hussain, Kulsoom Naz Baloch, Sheikh Hashim Rashid, Naseem Labar, Rao Sajid Ali, AD Baloch, M. Saleem Raja, and Abdul Rauf Lodhi.

It has been reported that the accused were initially arrested at Chehllyak police station for violating the Covid-19 ordinance and interfering in government operations. Despite repeated court orders, they failed to appear before the court, prompting the Judicial Magistrate to direct the Chehllyak police to arrest the accused and present them in court.
