Heavy vehicles kill two more people in city

Another motorcyclist died after being hit by a tanker in Manghopir on Monday. A passenger also died after a heavy trailer crashed into a rickshaw on the National Highway in Steel Town.

The number of fatalities caused by heavy vehicles in Karachi continues to rise, with around 100 people having lost their lives in the first 41 days of this year. The latest incident occurred near the Raees Centre in Manghopir, where a motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a tanker.

The deceased was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was identified as Daniyal Afzal, 32. Earlier, a heavy trailer crashed into a rickshaw near the Sassi Toll Plaza on the National Highway in Steel Town, resulting in the death of a passenger identified as Idrees, 43. His body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The deceased lived in the National Highway link road area, and worked as a fisherman.
