Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has expressed deep concern over the increasing number of accidents caused by dump trucks and water tankers in Karachi. Taking notice of the serious violations of traffic laws, Tessori has written a letter to the chief justice of the Sindh High Court, urging him to take immediate action.
In the letter, he stated that the loss of innocent lives is unacceptable and strict enforcement of traffic laws has become imperative. He emphasised that individuals violating these laws must be held accountable. The fact that four citizens recently lost their lives in a single day due to heavy traffic accidents highlights the severity of the situation.
He further pointed out that many drivers responsible for these accidents flee the scene, raising serious questions about law enforcement and accountability. The increasing fatalities caused by heavy vehicles reflect administrative negligence and a lack of law enforcement.
The governor reminded that the Sindh High Court has already set specific entry timings for heavy vehicles in the city. He urged the chief justice of the Sindh High Court to ensure strict implementation of court orders, stating that the people of Karachi are looking towards the judiciary for their safety. He expressed confidence that the CJ would take immediate action to address this critical problem and issue necessary directives to the concerned authorities.
