SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Friday said the country was on the path to recovery as its economy was improving.
Talking to media in Sukkur, Shah said that the issue of water and canals project was very sensitive and needed to be taken seriously. “Today, the issue of water and construction of six canals was given a cold shoulder,” he said.
He further said an attempt was being made to worsen situation in Sindh. “PPP opposed Kalabagh Dam project.”He said that PPP always talked of strengthening the federation as Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had always discouraged ethnic groups.
He said that two kilometers part of Nara Canal was renovated, while Rohri Canal will also undergo renovation this year and all canals emanating from Sukkur Barrage will be renovated.Shah said a trauma centre will be built near Arore city with $62 million in collaboration with the Korean government.
