CDA offered assistance for digital mapping of capital

Islamabad: The Surveyor General of Pakistan has offered the Capital Development Authority (CDA) technical assistance for developing digital maps and real-time imagery of Islamabad.

At a meeting held at the CDA headquarters, Surveyor General of Pakistan, Major General Rafiqur Rehman, informed CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa that his organization could provide real-time images with centimeter-level accuracy to aid urban planning and development.

Both sides agreed to enhance mutual cooperation and discussed acquiring advanced 3D maps and high-resolution imagery for Islamabad. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that these technologies would help improve urban planning, layout preparation, and the identification of city-related issues. He further stated that 3D maps and images would assist in the timely detection of land encroachments, allowing for more efficient management of Islamabad’s urban landscape.
