Odho orders security steps for polio teams

Karachi police chief Additional IG Javed Alam Odho on Tuesday chaired a meeting on the security of the ongoing polio drive and ordered measures in this regard. The meeting was attended by the Karachi Range DIGs, DIG Admin, ADIG Admin, DIG Traffic, district SSPs and other officers.

Odho issued directives to strengthen all security measures at the police station level and ensure the safety of polio teams during the polio campaign. He stressed random snap checking, picketing, patrolling, and strict vigilance on suspicious activities.

He also directed the district SSPs to monitor security measures and the SHOs to be present in the areas. Later, Additional IG Odho met a Karachi Traders Alliance delegation. He met six-member delegation in his office where representatives of the business community provided information about the problems faced by the traders. He assured the delegates of immediate attention and solutions.

The delegation included Karachi Traders Alliance members Muhammad Abdullah Batra, Javed Siddiqui, Jamal Sheikh, Ashfaq, Owais, and Javed. The city police chief assured the delegation that the police were committed to resolving the problems of the business community on a priority basis. He said that the safety of traders and improving the business environment were a top priority of the police, and all possible steps would be taken in this regard in a timely manner.
