PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sher Afzal Marwat on Friday submitted a written response to the show-cause notice issued to him by the party.
A copy of his response was obtained by Geo News, shedding light on his grievances and allegations.
In his detailed reply, Marwat stated that he was accused of violating party discipline. The notice, he clarified, was issued in the context of his remarks regarding Salman Akram Raja.
According to Marwat, he warned that if Raja’s actions were not curtailed, they could lead to divisions within the party.
The MNA alleged that Salman Akram Raja had made derogatory remarks against him during a TV programme on January 10 and repeated the accusations on January 12, accusing Marwat of working against party interests. Marwat claimed that Raja’s comments implied he was incapable of resolving party matters, which, he said, damaged his reputation within PTI.
Marwat said that an MPA from Punjab had misled the party’s founder about him, accusing him of disrespecting the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi. Without being given a chance to explain himself, Marwat claimed he was unfairly removed from the party at that time.
He accused Shahbaz Gill and his associates of orchestrating a targeted campaign against him. Despite raising these concerns on party forums, no action was taken, he said. Marwat highlighted that the PTI founding chairman’s decision to remove Shahbaz Gill from party committees was not implemented. Instead, a narrative was built suggesting that Imran Khan had praised Gill. In his response, Marwat expressed the hope that his concerns would be addressed and that the party would ensure justice. He emphasized the need for internal accountability and transparency to maintain unity within PTI.
