Three injured in crossfire between police, robbers

A police constable, a woman, and a man were injured during an exchange of gunfire between police and robbers in the Mehmoodabad area on Thursday morning.

According to police, the encounter occurred near the Mehmoodabad Graveyard, where a fleeing group of robbers opened fire, injuring one police constable and two civilians, including a woman. The injured were immediately transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment. The constable was identified as 25-year-old Rizwan, son of Ramzan, while the civilians were identified as Faiza, 20, daughter of Ilyas, and Imran, 45.

CCTV footage of the incident had also emerged, showing the robbers on a motorcycle. The pillion rider could be seen firing straight ahead as they flee, with children visible in the area on their way to school, underscoring the recklessness of the criminals. The incident occurred at 7:38 am. An investigation is underway, with authorities examining various aspects of the case.
