­20 shops sealed in drive against encroachments

Operation launched on Sheikhupura Road, Makki Road under supervision of AC City Iqra Mubeen

GUJRANWALA: The district administration has sealed 20 shops and offices on Sheikhupura Road and Makki Road during an operation against encroachments.

Under the vision of the chief minister, the anti-encroachment operation was launched on Sheikhupura Road, Makki Road and adjacent areas under the supervision of AC City Iqra Mubeen. The anti-encroachment team sealed 15 shops on Sheikhupura Road and the office of the Good Transport Company. The goods were also seized and handed over to the Municipal Corporation staff. In the anti-encroachment operation on Makki Road, five shops were sealed for illegal encroachments. Assistant Commissioner Iqra Mubeen said that the operation would continue.

SUTHRA PUNJAB PROGRAMME: Commissioner Syed Naveed Haider Shirazi has sought a report on the performance of contractor companies for solid waste management under the Suthra Punjab programme. Addressing a meeting here, the commissioner said that the assistant commissioners of all the tehsils along with the assistant managers of waste management companies should visit urban and rural areas.
