PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Accountability Committee has summoned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare Syed Qasim Ali Shah over charges of corruption.
Sources told Geo News, that Syed Qasim Ali Shah had been summoned on charges of abuse of power and alleged corruption. It was learnt that complaints were received against him in his capacity as both the minister for health and the minister for Social Welfare.
Six months ago, the health portfolio was taken away from Syed Qasim Ali Shah, and he was given the Social Welfare portfolio instead. The PTI Accountability Committee has three members -- Musaddiq Abbasi, Shah Farman, and Qazi Anwar. The committee will submit its report on Syed Qasim Ali Shah to PTI's founder. It is worth mentioning here that earlier a PTI lawmaker, Shakeel Khan, was removed from the KP cabinet
Following his removal from the cabinet, he had termed the "Good Governance Committee", established on the instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan, as a "Bad Governance Committee." But Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpaur had stated that a summary of Shakeel Khan's de-notification was sent on the recommendations of the committee. Imran Khan was reportedly displeased over the internal differences within PTI that arose after Shakeel Khan's removal from the cabinet.
