PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday said that it did not require the presence of Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in any case as no corruption inquiries or cases were pending against her.
This statement was made in a report submitted to the Peshawar High Court (PHC) by NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Special Prosecutor General, Muhammad Ali. The report was submitted in response to a court directive requesting details of cases and inquiries related to Bushra Bibi.
The report clarified that there were currently no registered cases or active inquiries involving Bushra Bibi within NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s jurisdiction. It may be mentioned that Bushra Bibi had filed a petition in the PHC seeking details of any cases or investigations involving her. The petition named the federal and Punjab governments, along with the Federal Investigation Agency and NAB, as respondents. Following this, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officially submitted its response, stating that no proceedings were pending against her in their office.
