PARACHINAR: Two personnel of FC were martyred when unidentified armed men opened fire on them at Charkhel area in lower parts of Kurram tribal district on Monday, police sources said.

The sources said that the FC men had been deployed to protect the road. Unidentified armed men opened fire on the security personnel, leaving two of them critically wounded. Two soldiers of the Thall Scouts, who were identified as Tauseef Mohmand and Kamran were injured in the firing. They were rushed to the Combined Military Hospital in Thall, where they breathed their last.

Soon after the incident, a heavy contingent of the security forces cordoned off the area and fired gunshots into the air. It was learnt that a truck loaded with flour bags was looted in Charkhel area recently. The truck was carrying the commodity to Parachinar. It may be mentioned that over 20 people lost lives in various acts of violence in the Charkhel area over the last one year.
