ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has wrapped up contempt of court plea after meeting of Imran Khan with his lawyers.
The contempt of court plea filed by Faisal Chaudhry against imposition of ban on lawyers meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala jail despite court orders came up for hearing before Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan of IHC Friday. The court wrapped up case after arranging the meeting.
Faisal Chaudhry said the basic rights of Imran Khan are being violated in jail. Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan remarked I will not go out of scope of this case. You should file petition in this regard separately.
Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan inquired is there any intention to extend the notification regarding ban on meetings. Advocate General (AG) Islamabad said the ban will not be extended and asked to dispose of contempt of court petition.Faisal Chaudhry asked the court to link notification of ban on jail meetings to court’s permission.Justice Sardar Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan remarked that the court will not issue such an order. They should expect court’s orders if any genuine threat comes.
