Islamabad:The National Book Foundation (NBF) hosted a workshop and book launch on ‘21st Century Skills’ on its main premises here as part of efforts to foster educational excellence and equip individuals with the tools necessary to meet the challenges of the modern world.
Noted academic Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah showed up as the chief guest with the event featuring a series of insightful discussions and presentations on essential skills like critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and digital literacy -- key competencies for success in the 21st century.
Dr. Sajid Ali Yousufzai, the author of the newly launched book on 21st-century skills, led the workshop and offered participants valuable insights and practical strategies for integrating these critical skills into both educational curricula and professional practices.
He highlighted the need for educators and professionals to adapt to the rapidly evolving demands of today's world. The book launch also featured reviews from esteemed figures in the educational sector, including director Mirza Ali from the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and Dr. Saira Nudrat from the National University of Modern Languages, who praised the book for its relevance and potential impact on advancing educational standards in Pakistan.
Murad Ali Mohmand, Secretary of the National Book Foundation, hosted the event and emphasised the critical importance of equipping students and professionals with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the 21st century.
He highlighted the NBF’s commitment to fostering a culture of learning, reading, and innovation across the nation. The workshop was attended by 70 people, who participated in the sessions and discussions.
Shields were presented to the chief guest and the book reviewers in recognition of their contributions. Also, certificates were awarded to all participants as a token of appreciation for their active involvement in the workshop.
