Qasim elected chairman of Special Committee on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: The Special Committee on Kashmir on Tuesday unanimously elected Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon as its chairman.

The election was conducted by Advisor (Legislation) Muhammad Mushtaq, Additional Secretary (Committees) Jawad Murtaza Naqvi and Joint Secretary (Committees) Haseen Raza Zaidi at the Parliament House. Aurangzeb Khan Khhichi proposed the name of Noon as chairman that was seconded by all committee members. Mushtaq congratulated Noon on behalf of the speaker, deputy speaker and secretary general National Assembly and assured him of support from the secretariat for an effective functioning of the committee. The meeting was attended by MNAs Yousaf Zaman, Azhar Khan, Raza Hayat, Mubashir Iqbal, Wajiha Qamar, Asad Alam, Javed Ali, Sharmila Sahiba Faruqui Hashaam, Fatehullah Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed Khan Babar, Sadiq Iftikhar, Tariq Bashir, Shehryar Afridi, Khurram Shahzad and Usman Badini. Dr Tariq Fazal and Aamir Dogar were also present.
