Pakistan has a troubling history with domestic violence with various forms of abuse being widespread. Reports indicate that nearly one in three married women in Pakistan report facing physical violence from their husbands.
Despite laws like the Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act of 2013, enforcement remains weak, and many cases go unreported due to social stigma and fear of retaliation. This underscores the urgent need for more effective implementation of protective laws and better support systems for victims of domestic violence in Pakistan.
