Hasil Bizenjo, Sheikh Aftab become ministers
ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday administered oath to the National Party’s Mir Hasil Bizenjo and Pakistan Muslim League’s Sheikh Aftab Ahmed as federal ministers. The oath taking ceremony was attended by political leaders and senior officials here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. Sheikh Aftab Ahmed has been working as Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
Three killed as roof collapses in Swat

MINGORA: Three members of a family were killed and another sustained injuries when the roof of their house collapsed in Bedara area of Matta tehsil in Swat. The deceased were identified as Begum, Bilal and Chamanda. The injured girl identified as one Neelam was rushed to the nearby hospital for medical care where her condition is said to be stable.

IGFC says sacrifices of security forces matchless

TIMERGARA: Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IGFC) Major General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood on Friday said that the security forces had rendered matchless sacrifices to root out terrorism. He was addressing as chief guest at the passing-out parade of 21st batch comprising 280 recruits, at Dir Scouts Ground in Balambat. Commandant Dir Task Force Col Khalid Mehmood Shafi, Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir Irfanullah Wazir, District Nazim Muhammad Rasul Khan, district and tehsil councillors, elders and a large number of local people were present on the occasion.
SC orders FIR against Faisalabad police

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday directed the Faisalabad police to register an FIR against officials of Chak Jhumra police station who apprehended an accused person allegedly involved in theft offence and handed him over to his family opponents for taking revenge. A two-member bench led by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan resumed hearing of the plea of the relative of Muhammad Ayub who contended that the Chak Jhumra police arrested the accused person and then handed him over to family opponents. The petitioner pleaded that local police has shown negligence by handing Ayub to family of opponents after which nobody knows about his whereabouts. Meanwhile, the court directed the Station House Officer of the Police Station Chak Juhmra to register an FIR against those officials who were involved in the crime and adjourned the hearing for date-in-office (indefinite period).
24 arrested in Nowshera search operation

NOWSHERA: The security forces and police arrested 24 suspected persons during a search operation here on Friday, official said. Talking to reporters at his office, District Police Officer (DPO) Wahid Mehmood said that the police and security forces launched a search operation in Jaroba and Spin Khak and Mera Jalozai in Nowshera under the National Action Plan. “About 24 persons were arrested and huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during the search,” he maintained. Cases were registered against 13 persons who were handed over to the joint investigation team. A drug peddler Shad Ali was also arrested during the operation, the official said, adding that the objective was to eliminate the dens of terrorists, their facilitators, and anti-state elements in the area.
