Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Wednesday directed a standing counsel to contact Ministry of Interior and ask them to appoint a responsible officer who may apprise the court of factual position in the matter of a petitioner who has been seeking registration of FIR against the Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz, his wife Umm-e-Hassan and students of Jamia Hafsa.
IHC bench was hearing a petition filed by a citizen Muhammad Jibran Nasir seeking registration of FIR against the said persons for inviting ISIS (Daesh) to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden and Lal Masjid operation.
The petitioner filed this petition after his application for registering FIR was first, not entertained by the Abpara police station and later a subordinate court had also dismissed his application.
Petitioner Jibran Nasir has contended before the court that Jamia Hafsa female students through a video message invited ISIS to avenge the killing of bin Laden and Lal Masjid operation.
The petitioner said that Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz in another video had endorsed the version of his female students that poses grave danger to the safety and security of the sate of Pakistan. The petitioner contacted Abpara police in this regard but they refused to lodge FIR. Later he filed an application before a civil court that, on March 09 dismissed his application.
He has prayed to the court to annul the civil court decision and order police to register FIR in this matter.
