Home minister visits Imambargahs to assess security situation

The Sindh home minister, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, along with senior Karachi police officials, visited various Imambargahs in the city on Sunday to assess the overall security situation.

The minister visited Jafar Tayyar Society Malir, Ancholi Society, and Abbas Town Imambargahs. Additional IG Karachi Imran Yaqub Minhas, DIGs, and SSPs were present during the visits.

While speaking with the organisers of the Imambargahs, Lanjar reviewed the overall security arrangements and stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure safety and peace of Muharram processions, gatherings and other events.

He urged the religious scholars and speakers to promote inter-sect harmony, brotherhood, love, and unity. The home minister instructed the Karachi police chief to implement extraordinary security measures on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram.
