'Qurtaba City' clarifies report

Rawalpindi: Referring to a news item in 'The News,' Rawalpindi-Islamabad, titled 'Absence of regular DG adds to public woes' containing a list of 44 allegedly illegal housing colonies operating in the jurisdiction of Potohar Town, Rawalpindi, the chairman of 'Qurtaba City' has clarified that the name of his company is included in the list due to some misunderstanding/misreporting of the actual facts, says a press release.

Sarfraz Ahmad Khan, chairman of Madinatul Ilm, a company duly registered with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) u/s 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984 having its project under the name 'Qurtaba City,' Mouza Kolian Hameed, Motorway M-2, Chakri Interchange, Rawalpindi.

He stated that the TMO, Town Municipal Administration (TMA), Potohar Town, Rawalpindi vide his letter no: 105/TMA dated 15-09-2008 issued NOC/formal letter of sanction regarding 'Qurtaba City' Mouza Kolian Hameed, Motorway M-2 Chakri Interchange, Rawalpindi.

He clarified that developmental work of the infrastructure and other construction work are going on at a fast speed in the project. Professional staff is handling the project at site. The management of Qurtaba City is regularly undertaking the purchase of land and sale of plots, etc. he further stated that he had already written to TMO, TMA, Potohar Town with a copy to the Director Metropolitan, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) for issuing necessary contradiction/clarification of the said news item.

He alleged that some competitors are bent upon creating baseless propaganda against their company.
