He said the government wanted to restore the historical railway track in Khyber Agency to make it functional once again. The official said that work on the rehabilitation of the track will start soon.

It may be recalled that the railway track was in good condition before the Afghan Revolution in late 70s and the foreign tourists used to travel via this track passing through the Khyber Pass. This historical railway track was built by the British rulers in 1919 and they had spent millions of rupees on this track.
