ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Monday dismissed contempt of court plea against the cancellation of NOC for PTI public meeting.
Justice Babar Sattar remarked, “We have to make decisions as per law. Deputy Commissioner (DC) issued an order. Chief Commissioner (CC) cancelled it. You should file the petition against the order of CC. Justice Babar Sattar remarked, “If CC has suspended the order you will have to challenge this order.”
Counsel Shoaib Shaheen said award punishment to them. Their connivance should come to public.Justice Babar Sattar remarked, “You will challenge the order then the technicality of order will be determined. I cannot initiate proceedings of contempt of court on this petition. He further said, “Tell me on what order should I initiate contempt of court proceedings. Do it what you can do in the capacity of lawyer.”
In the previous meeting DC Islamabad allowed to hold public meeting. Chief Commissioner suspended it. The court dismissed the PTI petition.Justice Babar Sattar remarked, “Challenge the order of CC which you did not do.”
Counsel Shoaib Shaheen took the plea, “We will again file writ petition. These people are not practicing good intentions and not allowing us to do anything.”Justice Babar Sattar remarked political matter will not allow to change procedure.It may be mentioned PTI had resorted to IHC against suspension of NOC for holding public meeting on July 6.
