PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesman Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said on Monday Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had never supported any military operation.
Responding to a statement made by Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, he said the KP government had demanded that all stakeholders, including the Parliament, should be taken into account before launching any anti-terror operation. Barrister Saif, who is also the special assistant to the chief minister on information, came down hard on the governor and accused him of making bids to grab the media attention by issuing statements.
He said chief minister and his two other brothers had defeated Governor Faisal Karim Kundi in the past elections and that showed his (Kundi’s) worth in politics. Barrister Saif advised the governor to call to his mind the time the law and order situation when the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was in power before commenting on the present state of affairs in KP. “The governor’s statement on the law and order situation in the province is baseless. The situation was the worst when the PPP was in power. It had retarded the progress in the country and the province,” said the KP government spokesman.
