LAHORE : Accelerating its recovery campaign, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed seven commercial properties in the Gulshan-e-Ravi area for non-payment of commercial fees here on Monday.
TP Zone 1 Director Ayesha Mutahir carried out the operation on the instructions of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq. The sealed properties included medical stores, grocery shops, private schools, and other properties.
Ayesha said the sealed properties had liabilities of lakhs of rupees in the shape of commercialisation fee.
Several notices were given to these properties before the operation. She said the operations against defaulters and illegal construction will continue without any discrimination in the city.
Meanwhile, LDA Director General Tahir Farooq chaired a meeting regarding LDA resource generation and reviewed the performance of all directors of the Town Planning Wing. Chief Town Planner One and Chief Town Planner Two presented reports on their respective areas during the meeting.
LDA DG Tahir Farooq directed that recovery goals must be achieved before the end of the current fiscal year and strict action should be taken against defaulters of commercial fees.
To ensure goal achievement, LDA Town Planning Wing teams should work daily throughout the week, LDA DG said and instructed officers to utilise all available resources for effective resource generation. The directors were further directed to take consistent action to curb illegal commercial activities.
LDA DG ordered that chief town planners should submit daily performance reports for their respective areas. The meeting also reviewed revenue targets of the Metropolitan Planning, LDA City, and Sales of Lands. LDA DG directed the director auction to present the auction calendar for the upcoming fiscal year next week.
The meeting was attended by Chief Town Planner One Asad Zaman, Chief Town Planner Two Azhar Ali, Chief Metropolitan Planning Faisal Qureshi, Director Finance Kashif Imran, Director Auction Ali bin Sahil, and all Directors of the Town Planning Wing.
