LAHORE: Former president Dr. Arif Alvi said Tuesday accountability is impossible and he is hopeless about it.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Dr Alvi commented on the cipher case, reiterating his initial view that registering a case on this issue was not justified. He emphasised that it is the prime minister’s discretion to decide whether to inform the nation about the matter. Dr. Alvi also discussed the economic impact of the alleged regime change, estimating a loss of billions of rupees to Pakistan. He noted that the elite class opposes accountability, and the public has lost faith in the justice system. In response to a question, Dr. Alvi saw no issue with Imran Khan’s statements about the Hamoodur Rehman Commission Report.
