The fugitive wanted for serious crimes was arrested from Saudi Arabia and transported to Islamabad Airport via flight number SV724 and handed over to Gujranwala Police, the FIA said. The accused, Sufyan Ali, was wanted by Punjab Police.

In 2020, the suspect committed murder and fled abroad. A case had been registered against him under murder charges at Thana City, Kamokey Gujranwala.

The FIA NCB Interpol had issued a red notice for his arrest. The suspect was subsequently handed over to Punjab Police. The extradition of the accused was made possible due to close coordination between Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Riyadh, the FIA concluded.
