President Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi presided over the FAPUASA Executive Council meeting online while General Secretary Dr M Uzair moderated the proceedings. The meeting participants took stock of the severity of the decision and rejected it unanimously due to its devastating effects on the Higher Education sector observing the higher education was already suffering a lot due to the apathy of the government. The council decided to observe Black Day tomorrow (Thursday) in all universities of the country to record a protest over the decision of the federal government. They observed that any decision regarding the budget of HEC must be placed before the Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting, as mandated by the constitution.

Moreover, it also urged the government to increase the higher education budget by up to Rs500 billion in the upcoming federal budget. Failure to reverse this decision will result in the closure of universities nationwide.
