Ashfaq Khan Mohmand, in-charge of Nowshera Kalan Police Station said that the members of the transgender community were having a dance party without getting permission for it. He said that the action was taken following public complaints.

The official said the local Ulema and elders had asked Khanzeb , in-charge of the town policepost , to take action against the transgendered persons as the community park housed a janazgah, where the dance party was reportedly taking place.A good number of youngsters showed up to enjoy the dance party. However, the police threw a spanner in the works. The police action angered the members of the transgender community, who stormed the police station in retaliation, where they staged a protest while taking off their shirts.
