Mayor pledges to convert Islamabad into a model city

ISLAMABAD: Mayor of Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) Sheikh Anser Aziz has said that Islamabad would be converted into a model city as per the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as we have come with long and short term projects for the betterment and development of the federal capital.

The Mayor visited the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat on Tuesday where he was welcomed by the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan M. Salman Faruqui. The first ever mayor of IMC was briefed about the working of the secretariat. Welcoming the mayor in the secretariat Salman Faruqui felicitated Sheikh Anser on assuming the charge of first ever Mayor of IMC and expressed the confidence that under his dynamic leadership the capital city would flourish in a befitting manner.

Speaking on the occasion Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed the resolve that he would develop the capital city and in this regard he would leave no stone un-turned. The mayor said that he is committed to beautify the capital on international standards adding that reforms would be introduced in the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the civic body of the capital city.

Earlier, Senior Advisors of the Secretariat Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, Agha Nadeem and Hafiz Ahsan Ahmed Khokhar briefed the Mayor about the working of the Federal Ombudsman’s secretariat. They also apprised the visiting mayor that with the coordination and cooperation between the two departments masses would be provided speedy justice as well as better living atmosphere.

The meeting was also attended by the senior advisors of the secretariat who gave their valuable suggestions for the better administration in the capital city.
