ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) authorities while taking notice of two of the subordinate officials for misusing their authority and indulging in corrupt practices have suspended and booked them under relevant laws, a spokesman of FIA said. Two FIA officials, Constables Bilal Awan and Aaqib Mahmood, have been arrested and suspended from duty for their alleged involvement in corruption and abuse of authority after lodging FIR under sections 18/22 EO, 1979, 5 (2) PCA 1947 and 201 PPC, the spokesman said. The constables were attached to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad and were found involved in illegal activities. According to official sources, constables were accused of involvement in human smuggling and made millions of rupees by sending them to different countries on forged papers. The FIA team arrested both-handed and recovered cash and other evidence from their custody. The FIA has assured that zero tolerance will be shown towards corrupt elements, and strict legal action will be taken against those involved in corruption and misuse of their office, the spokesman said and added that the accused will be brought to justice and punished according to the law.
