100 paintings by Jimmy Engineer displayed on World Museum Day

LAHORE : Coinciding with International Museum Day, the Lahore Museum on Saturday hosted exhibition ‘A Tribute to the People of Pakistan’, showcasing the works of renowned Pakistani artist Jimmy Engineer.

The event was inaugurated by Cao Ke, the Deputy Consul General of China in Lahore. The exhibition, which features over one hundred of Engineer’s paintings, was meticulously curated by Ms Uzma Usmani, Keeper of Paintings at the Lahore Museum, and Ms Arshia Sohail, Exhibition Officer. Attendees were given a tour of the museum by Director Ms Nabila Irfan, Deputy Director Asim Rizwan, and the museum curators. Cao Ke expressed his admiration for the museum and the exhibition, noting the shared historical connections between Pakistan and China, particularly in relation to the Gandharan civilisation.

He encouraged everyone to visit the Lahore Museum, highlighting its role in preserving and exhibiting the rich history of the region. Ms Nabila Irfan, Director of the Lahore Museum, expressed her pride in hosting Jimmy Engineer’s work and extended a warm welcome to Cao Ke, appreciating his visit and support for the museum’s efforts in cultural preservation.
