The Baloch Colony police on Wednesday arrested a man who had been sexually abusing his minor daughter for a decade after she filed a complaint with digital evidence.
Police said the father had started sexually abusing his daughter at their Mehmoodabad home when she was just seven years old. On Wednesday the girl who is now 17 years old filed a complaint against her father.
SHO Naeem Rajput said the girl came to the police station and presented digital proof of her sexual abuse to the police. After the police arrested the man, he admitted during interrogation that he used to sexually abuse his daughter under the influence of alcohol.
A case has been registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code. According to the girl’s complaint, when she was seven years old, as soon as her mother would leave for work, her father would start abusing her, but she never told anyone due to fear.
She said that in 2021 her father married her off to a man named Sajjad in a Sukkur village, but after a month and a half her father brought her back to Karachi after a quarrel with her husband, then raped her when her mother was not home.
She added that after her son was born, her husband took her back to the village. She came back to Karachi after a year. She was at her parents’ house on Tuesday, when her father abused her again in her mother’s absence.
The SHO said the arrested father has been sent to the hospital for medical tests, adding that further legal action would be taken in the light of the doctor’s report.
