The defunct Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is all set to resume its functions after a bill to revive it was signed by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad on Monday.
The Karachi Development Authority (Revival and Amending) Bill, 2016 was approved by the provincial assembly on March 21st this year. Following the governor’s signature the bill would not be called the Karachi Development Authority (Revival and amending) Act, 2016.
A governing body of the KDA would be formed, headed by the local government and housing, town planning minister; two members of the provincial assembly, secretary local government, housing and town planning, city commissioner, member technical, member finance and member KDA admin would be its members.
