The SNGPL is strictly observing this schedule for over a week. The consumers are using different sources of fuel for other 15 hours in day and night like expensive Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), fire woods, kerosene oil etc.

The SNGPL has advised housewives to complete cooking works within schedule timings. In the light of present situation, LPG dealers are selling the commodity in ‘black’ in skyrocketing prices. The dealer mafia was selling 1-kilogram LPG at Rs320 in summer season.

The SNGPL Senior Engineer (Pressure) Muhammad Faisal told ‘The News’ that consumers will get natural gas only in schedule timings. “We have issued gas schedule to all areas in Rawalpindi region”, he claimed. We are facing gas shortage and situation will be better in coming days, he hoped. The consumers of different localities in Rawalpindi have appealed government to provide them full gas pressure.

They also said that SNGPL was providing natural gas only for 9-hours but sending bills of 24-hours. SNGPL was providing gas for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in this situation. Majority of CNG stations in Rawalpindi are operational.
