Police officials sacked for poor performance

Islamabad : Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari holds orderly room where complaints against police officers, investigations into cases and assessments of their performance were examined, a public relations officer said.

The DIG (Operations) issued show-cause notices for negligence, disciplinary violations, incomplete investigations, negligence in duty, and involvement in corruption against three inspectors, 10 sub-inspectors, seven ASIs, two head constables and five constables. Whereas, four police officers namely ASI Abid Hussain, Head Constable Abid Majeed, Constable Muhammad Shoaib, and Constable Areeb Ali were dismissed from service.

While the demotion orders of six police officers including Inspector Tahir Khan, Inspector Shams Ul Akbar, Sub Inspector Muhammad Farooq, Sub Inspector Zahid Hussain, ASI Iftikhar Ahmed, and Head Constable Riaz Jalalwere issued. However, annual increments of 13 officers were halted while the service of four police officers was also confiscated. DIG (Operations) said that negligence and dereliction of duties will not be tolerated in any way within the department. The protection of citizen’s lives and property is our foremost responsibility and any negligence or irresponsibility in this regard will not be tolerated, he added.

Meanwhile, public service delivery should be the top priority and those who demonstrate efficiency will be part of our team. He emphasised immediate action on any complaint and zero tolerance for any shortcomings in safeguarding citizens lives and property.
