Over 3,000 lawyers cast their votes in the election for the PHCBA in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The candidates of Grand Alliance won the key positions in the annual election for the Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) here on Saturday.

Held on the premises of PHC amid tight security, Fida Gul Advocate of the Grand Alliance was elected as president, while Mian Asif Aman and Alam Khan Adenzai were elected as vice-president and general secretary respectively.Besides, Fawadur Rahman was elected as finance secretary and Ijaz Ali Shah as PHCBA joint secretary.

The alliance of Malgari Wakilan grabbed only the slot of library secretary won by Muhammad Arif Firdaus.

It may be mentioned that the Grand Alliance swept the PHCBA annual election for the second time with a thumping margin.

Over 3,000 lawyers cast their votes in the election for the PHCBA in Peshawar.

Meanwhile, Adviser to Chief Minister on Social Welfare Mashal Yousafzai was stopped from casting her vote during the annual election for the Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA).

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council has suspended her license for making some remarks against the judiciary and the PHCBA.

When Mashal Yousafzai arrived to cast her vote, she was stopped from doing so. She has been accused of running a smear campaign on social media against the judiciary.

The bar council had suspended her license, which was restored by the KP advocate general.

However, the bar council had approached the Pakistan Bar Council against the restoration of her license. The Pakistan Bar Council had upheld the suspension of her license.
