LAHORE: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi called on Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren here on Saturday.

On his arrival at the Chinese Consulate, the Chinese Consul General welcomed Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi. Issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation were discussed in the meeting. Security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan was also discussed. Mohsin Naqvi informed about the measures taken for the security of Chinese citizens and said that the security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan is our national responsibility.

Mohsin Naqvi said that instructions have been issued to all relevant institutions to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens as per SOPs. “We’ll not allow any conspiracy to harm Pak-China friendship. No effort will be spared to ensure the security of the Chinese brothers, he said.

Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi has ordered reinforcing security protocols for foreign nationals residing in Islamabad, underscoring the government’s unwavering commitment to their safety and well-being, a spokesman for the interior ministry said.

The minister made these directions while chairing a meeting to review the law and order and ensure the foolproof security of foreign nationals. The meeting decided to establish a special protection force dedicated to the safety of foreign nationals and enhance security at all important offices and places, including the red zone in Islamabad.
