The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) would provide paver stones to the Saddar Town administration for the repair of footpaths on II Chundrigar Road.
This was decided during a visit of Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi to various areas of District South on Saturday to review the ongoing cleaning efforts by the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB).
SSWMB Managing Director Imtiaz Ali Shah, KMC Municipal Commissioner Afzal Zaidi, Saddar Town Municipal Commissioner Noor Hussain Jokhio and other officials accompanied the commissioner.
SSWMB officials informed the commissioner that there was a phase-wise plan to eliminate garbage dumps throughout the city and initially, they had started removing garbage dumps near hospitals, schools, mosques, and imambargahs in different areas of Karachi.
The commissioner noticed the poor condition of footpaths, medians and green belts on II Chundrigar Road and other roads of the district. He instructed the KMC municipal commissioner to work with the town administration to repair footpaths on II Chundrigar Road.
The KMC municipal commissioner said that they would provide paving stones to the town administration for the repair of footpaths on II Chundrigar Road.
The commissioner directed the municipal commissioner of the town administration to repair damaged paving stones. He also instructed the Saddar Town administration to maintain green belts and medians on different roads.
