HYDERABAD: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Hyderabad Registry has reserved the decision on the bail applications of four accused in the M-6 corruption case.
The lawyers of the four accused nominated in the case of misappropriation of funds for the purchase of land in Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway (Matiari-Naushehro Feroz sections) pleaded in the SHC’s division bench comprising Justice KK Agha and Justice Umar Siyal.
Farooq H Naik appeared on behalf of former Matiari deputy commissioner Adnan Rasheed, Ishrat Lohar appeared on behalf of former Sindh Bank Matiari manager Tabish Shah, Shahab Sarki on behalf of Mukhtiar Chandio and Advocate Asif on behalf of Zeeshan Sehto.
The National Accountability Bureau was represented by prosecutor Niaz Mirni and investigation officer Irfan. The case pertains to embezzlement of more than five billion rupees released for the purchase of land for the construction of the M6 motorway sections.
The lawyers for the accused said their clients had been kept in judicial custody for 18 months and the statements of all witnesses were not completed recorded. After hearing the arguments, the high court reserved its decision on the bail applications.
