LALAMUSA: Former Advisor to the Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, PPP Chaudhry Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the current wave of protest rippling through the assembly courtesy of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is no stranger to our political landscape.

“Yet, its current manifestation is laced with an intensified bitterness, marking a departure from the norm. In the realm of opposition, the onus lies in ensuring governmental accountability through constructive parliamentary discourse.

However, PTI seems inclined towards orchestrating a ‘movement’, thrusting its demands into the public sphere. Political parties, when seeking to communicate their aspirations to the populace, have a binary choice: take to the streets in protest or convene within the parliamentary chambers alongside fellow political entities to chart the nation’s course. What is paramount is a path guided by prudence and sagacity.”

Talking to the media on Wednesday, he said Imran Khan’s predicament lies in his profound distrust, extending to individuals, parties, and institutions. “My mandate has been stolen,” asserts Imran, yet he and his party adamantly refute the mandates of other parties chosen by the populace of the same nation.
