The renowned crypto conference TOKEN2049 in Dubai has encountered significant disruptions due to heavy rainfall which has caused massive flooding in and around the venue, Crypto Times reported.
The TOKEN2049 is a global conference series where people interested in crypto meet to discuss ideas, network and shape the industry. It was scheduled to run until April 21.
Despite its distinguished line-up of speakers, including Peter McCormack, Vitalik Buterin, and Dovey Wan, attendees are now grappling with the aftermath of severe weather conditions.
As per alerts issued by the National Centre of Meteorology, the "hazardous weather events" will continue until Wednesday.
Attendees have shared pictures and videos online from the flooded event.
One user wrote, "the event got liquidated."
The organisers from the event conducted a poll online asking attendees their transportation plans, to which more than 40% replied with "boat".
Despite the massive rain and flooding, the organisers have assured attendees of dry and sunny conditions during the main events which is scheduled for April 18-19.

Flash floods in Dubai were previously seen in 2022, resulting in the death of seven migrant workers and the evacuation of 3,000 homes.
