Mirpurkhas police rescue two women from human traffickers

SUKKUR: Mirpurkhas Police arrested a gang of human traffickers and recovered two women from their captivity.

The recovered women, Tahira d/o Karam Hussain and Kalsoom d/o Malik Raza Ali, belong to Punjab. The police arrested Niaz Muhammad, Qurban Ali, Muhammad Shahbaz and a woman Zubaida.

SSP Mirpurkhas Asad Ali Choudhry said a case has been registered against accused under the Prevention of Trafficking in Person Act.

He said the accused would trap women sitting on railways stations and bus terminals on the pretext of providing them jobs and would sell them to people in Sindh.

He said that accused have disclosed the names of some other members of human trafficking group, adding the police will arrest them soon.

Meanwhile, the recovered victim Tahira said that she was from Lahore and a man met with her at Data Darbar who promised her a job in Sindh, but as she reached there, he sold her out in Mirpurkhas.
