Islamabad: Light to moderate rainfall was reported in Islamabad and Rawalpindi intermittently on Saturday lowering daytime temperatures to the relief of holidaymakers.

Eid days are over but the air of festivity is still there. Besides locals, outsiders, too, came to the federal capital in large numbers to see the sights amid pleasant weather. Roads remained clogged; parks and picnic places were crowded, and eateries teemed with foodies.

Zarina Ishfaq, a local housewife, said her family opted to mark Eid in the town due to high inflation unlike the past when it used to go to native town in Multan for post-Ramazan celebrations. Another resident, Shakil Ahmad, a senior government official, said his parents died a few years ago, so his wife and children were no more interested in visiting the native town for Eid. He said some family issues had stopped him, too, from going there.
