LAHORE: A 25-year-old unidentified accused in the custody of the Factory Area police tried to escape by jumping off the roof of the police station to the adjacent Dolphin Headquarters, resulting in his death. The body was shifted to the morgue.
Two brothers booked for raping two girls
Police registered a case against two brothers on charges of raping two girls in the Ravi Road area. The accused raped the girls on the pretense of giving them ration.
The ages of the victim girls were 12 and 15 years. Police said that the alleged rapists were flower sellers. The medical examination of the affected girls has been done and DNA samples have been taken.
11 dead in road accidents in Punjab
About 11 persons were killed and 1,375 injured in 1,261 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 638 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 737 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
